Embassy Project
What is the Embassy Project?
Our agreement with the Embassy of Chile in the United States is called “Chile-Massachusetts Plan” and all our projects with them fall within its scope.
In 2011, and considering the enormous potential for collaboration, the Governments of Chile and Massachusetts signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The document gave rise to the Chile-Massachusetts Plan, which aims to enhance knowledge exchange, promote opportunities, and strengthen scientific and technological development and economic activity in and between our peoples. The Chilean Embassy has similar plans with California and Washington State.
In June 2017, and with the purpose of strengthening that mutual collaboration, the non-profit organization Chile Massachusetts Alliance was created. The mission of the institution is to support and promote the Chile-Massachusetts Plan, fostering opportunities for innovation in economic development, education, technology, and energy.
ChileMass is responsible, in coordination with the Chilean Embassy and with the collaboration of the Massachusetts Office of Trade and Investment, to execute the Chile-Massachusetts Plan every year. This allows Chile to establish a dynamic and strategic relationship with Massachusetts.
