We are proud to share that five ventures from our ecosystem — Ceibo, Dr. Frances, Speaking Trees, Smart Genetics, and Soquimat — are among the ChileMass startups selected for the MIT Sloan PM Lab, a recognition that highlights the strength and global potential of the talent we support.
This achievement reflects the quality, maturity, and global potential of the founders we support, and marks an important milestone for their continued growth.
This selection reinforces the mission of ChileMass:
- to open doors,
- build global connections,
- and create experiences that meaningfully accelerate the trajectory of Chilean entrepreneurs.
What is the PM Lab?
The Product Management Lab is one of MIT Sloan’s most applied and competitive courses. Over four intensive weeks in January, teams of 3 to 4 MBA students work full-time on developing strategic, product-oriented projects for each selected company, dedicating 30 to 40 hours per week and totaling more than 120 hours of work per student.
The collaboration then continues in a part-time format throughout February and early March. For participating companies, this represents direct, high-quality, and cost-free access to top-tier talent, who contribute:
- Strategic product analysis
- Technology and innovation roadmaps
- Opportunity discovery and innovation evaluation
- Product development process design
- Go-to-market strategies
- Applied research with an MBA perspective
- Identification of hidden gaps and emerging opportunities
All of this takes place within a formal methodology that includes weekly meetings, data sharing, and structured follow-up.
We are grateful for the coordination of Ivonne Patterson and Andrés Cala, who supported this year’s team selection process.
A Highly Competitive Process
Chilean projects were presented to students during MIT Sloan’s Pitch Night on October 28, competing alongside companies such as NASDAQ and Whoop.
Students then ranked their top eight preferred projects, and the teaching team worked to ensure that each company was matched with a team for whom the project fell within their top three choices.
This rigorous process ensures that only startups with strong, well-defined, and strategically compelling challenges — capable of attracting MIT talent — are selected.
ChileMass startups selected for the MIT Sloan PM Lab
- Ceibo (Hub)
- Dr. Frances (ChileMass Emprende 2025)
- Speaking Trees (ChileMass Emprende 2025)
- Smart Genetics (ChileMass Emprende 2025)
- Soquimat (ChileMass Emprende 2024)
This is the second year in which Chilean startups pitch their projects at the PM Lab — and once again, they have been selected.
Last year, the participating companies were Búho, Soquimat, and Subcargo.
This year, Soquimat returned to apply again, a clear sign of the value the program brought to their product strategy.
This continued success also shows that the startups identified and supported by ChileMass have become a trusted source of high-quality projects for MIT — a signal of confidence in our selection process and in the caliber of Chilean innovation.
Why This Selection Matters
- Because it demonstrates — once again — that chilean startups are ready to compete, collaborate, and grow at a global level.
- Because it confirms that ChileMass initiatives such as ChileMass Emprende and the ChileMass Hub generate real impact by connecting Chilean founders with world-class talent, meaningful learning opportunities, and networks that open new pathways for development.
- And because it strengthens the essence of our work:
- At ChileMass, we don’t just create opportunities — we create experiences that change the trajectory of startups.
- We expose them to advanced methodologies, world-leading innovation ecosystems, and networks that can transform the evolution of their products and markets.
These collaborations reinforce Chile’s presence at MIT, create new connections, and continue building long-term bridges between Boston and Chile’s innovation ecosystem.
In short, this selection reinforces our vision at ChileMass:
- to support startups before, during, and after their major milestones,
- to bring forward concrete opportunities that accelerate their growth, and
- to build bridges that allow Chilean talent to thrive globally.
